Can One Daily Multivitamin Really Do It All? A Review of Dog is Human’s Daily Multivitamins

I take a multivitamin every day, as I’m sure a lot of us do. It’s a well-known fact that the average American diet is heavily reliant on highly-processed foods, which means that most of the population doesn’t end up meeting daily requirements for essential nutrients. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are extremely common, and one of the most convenient ways to combat these deficiencies is by incorporating a daily multivitamin into your routine.

But what if I told you that it’s not just humans who are suffering from the highly-processed American diet: your dog is suffering too. Ultra-processed dog foods often lack essential nutrients that your dog needs to thrive, leading to fatigue, digestive issues, poor immune health, and skin and coat problems. Fresh food diets are often inaccessible to the average dog owner because of price, and even the best fresh food diets still end up missing essential vitamins and minerals.

So what can you do? Well, turns out multivitamins come in dog-form too.

I rescued my dog, Millie, from a horrible breeding situation where she and all her brothers and sisters were kept in cramped, dirty cages — literally living in their own waste. When I brought her home, I couldn’t help but take notice of her dull coat, inflamed skin, terrible ear infections, and awful digestive problems. I might’ve saved her from the dirty cage that she was trapped in as a puppy, but the poor nutrition, stress, and unsanitary conditions that she suffered there followed her, manifesting as a myriad of health problems.

For Millie, having access to essential nutrients and vitamins was critical because she was still recovering from the circumstances that I rescued her from.

Which brings me to my journey with Dog is Human’s Daily Multivitamins

Dog is Human

There are a lot of dog multivitamins and supplements out there, and I’m sure a lot of them are great, but what led me to Dog is Human specifically was their mission: Pioneering Human-Grade Pet Health™.

When Dog is Human was founded in 2022, they set out to create dog supplements that were formulated to a human standard of health. All of their ingredients are human-grade, their products are clinically backed by a team of veterinary specialists, and everything is third-party tested for the highest quality.

But one of the biggest reasons why I chose Dog is Human is their transparency about their ingredients and formulation. I’m not a veterinarian or a scientist, but you don’t have to be in order to understand how Dog is Human’s Daily Multivitamins work. Everything on their website is explained so clearly and so thoroughly that there was no room for any doubt in my mind when I ordered my first jar.

Now onto the actual review.

Dog is Human’s Daily Multivitamins are formulated to support five core benefits for long term health:

  1. Skin & Coat — Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil and Vitamin E promote less itching and a shinier, more moisturized coat
  2. Hip & Joint — the combination of Glucosamine & Methylsulfonylmethane help with cartilage cushioning and joint lubrication
  3. Digestion — probiotics balance your dog’s gut microbiome and ease digestive issues
  4. Immunity — essential vitamins boost the immune system, easing inflammation
  5. Heart Health — Omega-3 fatty acids manage cholesterol and blood pressure to support cardiovascular function

Given all these benefits, I was excited to see how this multivitamin would help solve Millie’s chronic ear infections, dull coat, itchy skin, and loose stools.

I gave Millie this multivitamin every day for three months. The first few weeks, I didn’t notice any difference, but that didn’t throw me. Like any multivitamin or dietary supplement, Dog is Human’s Daily Multivitamin is not a quick fix or a miracle cure — nor does it claim to be. It takes consistent use over weeks to months to see visible improvements in your dog’s health.

The change was so subtle that I didn’t even realize how much Millie’s skin and coat had improved until about two months in, when I stumbled across a couple old photos of her. In the photos, her coat was dry and crusty and prone to matts. But as I was sitting there, scrolling through these photos with one hand and petting Millie with the other, her fur was soft, shiny, and healthy. By the time I finished the third month, Millie’s ear infections had all but disappeared, and my days of messy potty-times were over.

Safe to say, I’m definitely going to continue giving Millie these multivitamins. If the visible improvement in her skin, coat, and digestion isn’t enough, the peace of mind that I have now knowing that Millie is getting all the essential nutrients she needs to thrive, certainly is.
