Are huskies good guard dogs?

No, huskies are not good guard dogs. Although huskies might look intimidating, their playful, friendly nature makes them poor guard dogs.

Because huskies are not very territorial, they are not as suspicious as other breeds of dogs, so a husky might look for affection from an intruder rather than bark and scare the stranger away.

Through training, huskies can become protective of their owners, but training huskies is hard. Once you have established your dominance through rigorous training, the husky will protect you when threatened directly.

However, if you’re specifically looking for a guard dog, a German shepherd or a Doberman is a better choice.
