The stupidest dogs are Afghan hounds, bulldogs, bloodhounds, beagles, and mastiffs.
However, each breed originated for different reasons, perhaps as hunters, trackers, guards, or even as lapdogs. So they will excel in certain skills.
For example, they may have an incredible sense of smell, run at an awesome speed, or be sensitive to potential danger.
Dogs tend to be considered ‘dumb’ just because they’re difficult to train. Afghan hounds, like others on lists of ‘stupid’ dogs, can be stubborn, independent, and will only do things when they feel the need to do so. But ask any dog to play to their strengths, and they’ll amaze you with what they’re capable of.
