Great Pyrenees live 10-12 years on average. Some may live up to 15 years.
While their lifespan will depend to some extent on genetics, there are ways to help extend the healthy and happy life of a great Pyrenees, including:
- Feeding recommended quantities of high-quality food, and limiting calorie-laden snacks.
- Regular moderate exercise. Due to their origins, Great Pyrenees love hiking and long mountain walks but will be satisfied with short daily walks.
- Annual check-ups at the veterinarian will identify and treat any potential issues in good time.
