A blue heeler needs at least 1-2 hours of exercise daily. They’re ideal dogs for people with active, outdoor lifestyles who are looking for a smart, high-energy companion.
Keep in mind that for blue heelers the type of exercise is just as important as the amount.
Just taking a blue heeler on a walk for an hour will not be sufficient exercise, they need to run to properly expend their pent-up energy.
If you do take your blue heeler on a walk, take it somewhere you can throw a frisbee or a ball they can run after and bring back to you.
Blue heelers also enjoy agility challenges, hikes over difficult terrain, and treasure hunts.
