Cane corso dogs live between 10 and 12 years, on average. They are generally a healthy breed, but like other large dogs, they are susceptible to problems such as hip dysplasia as they age.
To help your cane corso live a long and healthy life, you should:
- Limit the high-calorie treats, and don’t let your cane corso become overweight
- Feed them high-quality dog food with natural ingredients
- Invest in a special mastiff ramp to help them get up and down safely from a car or a sofa, and also to protect your back from injury trying to lift them
- Ensure your cane corso has at least one veterinary check-up per year. This helps spot any problems early, making treatment easier.
